9/25/25 Explore with Fords: William Harris'24 (Strategic Campaigns Specialist @ Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE))
The Explore with Fords program allows current students to connect with Haverford alumni working in various industries, and representing diverse identities. Alumni who volunteer for the Explore with Fords career chats are eager to help current students learn more about transitioning from college to the real world, breaking into an industry and sharing general career and networking advice.
On September 25th, William Harris'24 will meet with students in 1:1 sessions from 5-7pm EST (30 minute sessions).
William is a Strategic Campaigns Specialist at the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), where he leads advocacy campaigns to defend student rights and advance campus free speech. He also oversees FIRE’s “Let’s Talk” program, partnering with students to develop civil discourse skills, foster engagement across differences, and build communities mobilized for free expression. Previously, he interned with the National Coalition Against Censorship’s Arts and Culture Advocacy Program and remains passionate about defending artistic freedom and cultural expression. He earned a B.A. in history from Haverford College, where his senior thesis on the Inquisition’s censorship of art and literature led to his TEDx Talk on the subject in May 2024.
